Bring / Take – Φέρνω / Παίρνω

bring / take:  Έχουν παρόμοιες έννοιες στην αγγλική και συχνά δημιουργούν σύγχιση.

Να θυμάστε: bring σημαίνει ότι (μετα)φέρω κάτι/κάποιον προς εμένα ενώ take σημαίνει ότι (μετα)φέρω κάτι/κάποιον μακριά από εμένα.

Παραδείγματα:

Bring: Bring your friend to the house for a drink tonight.

Take: Take your friend out for a drink tonight.

More examples:

My parents brought an old friend to the party.

My parents took me to a party where I saw an old friend.

I don’t want to go the party on my own so can I bring a friend.

My friend didn’t want to go to the party on her own so she took me with her.
