Σίγουρα μπορώ. Ας ξεκινήσουμε με το rub it in.

Παράδειγμα 1:

-Mary, I told you not to go to that concert and that it wasn’t worth the expense.

–Ok. Don’t rub it in. I made a mistake.

Παράδειγμα 2:

I'd like to rub your tummy, please

-Didn’t I tell you that that second hand car wasn’t worth anything? Now you broke down in the middle of nowhere!

-Ok. Stop rubbing it in!

Όμως το rub in σημαίνει, επίσης, ‘τρίβω μια αλοιφή πάνω στο δέρμα μου για να εισχωρήσει μέσα σ’αυτό’ (για φαρμακευτικούς λόγους).

Παράδειγμα:

• The doctor gave me some ointment (ή cream) to put on my aching back and told me to rub it in.

Τώρα ένα ακόμη παράδειγμα για άλλη  έννοια:  ‘ανακατεύω κάτι με κάτι άλλο πχ. στην κουζίνα’  (ανακατεύω αλεύρι με βούτυρο).

Παράδειγμα:

• Mixing flower and butter with your fingers is called the rubbing in method when making cakes.
