• He came and sat near to me.
• She took the stool and put it near to her.
Η απάντησή μου:
• He came and sat near (to) me.
• She took the stool and put it near (to) her.
Δεν είναι λάθος αλλά σπάνια χρησιμοποιείται πια.
Η πρόθεση to ταιριάζει περισσότερο με το : .. close to ..
• She put her hands close to the heater.
• Mary stood close to me and looked in my eyes.

Λέμε:
She went to a nearby coffee bar for a drink.
